Yamaki YW-40 dreadnought vintage acoustic guitar, gorgeous tone, OHSC

Here is a rare vintage guitar that sounds much more expensive than it will be listed for.  If there's one thing a guitar builder CAN'T do, it's pre-age a guitar 40-50 years.  Many have tried, but when you play a vintage guitar, you can hear a sweetness and musicality in the tone that comes from aging in the tone woods.  Is this the guitar equivalent of "poor man's lobster"?  Sure, but DAMN it's yummy!

Unlike hastily built imported guitars, this one not only has perfect lines, fit and finish, it has also survived in the world without cracking, checking or warping.  This is an extremely competent Martin guitar replica.  Perhaps this factory was auditioning to become Martin's import brand, who knows?  The reality is a powerful sounding guitar with and articulate treble, smooth, musical mids, and solid bass. 

Over the years, we have recorded a few vintage rosewood Martins and we wouldn't quite match these to that tone, this is different.  We would say that this rosewood sides and back guitar has a more even and controlled bass tone, not as "boomy".  This should make for an excellent recording guitar.  It has rich harmonics, and a is really fun to play.  It has has received several hours of work, including a full fret polish, setup and cleaning.  It has some nicks, scuffs and dings that would be considered very normal for a guitar this old.  There are some more noticeable scratches near the high "E" tuner, but the guitar doesn't look to have ever been dropped or abused.   Ships in a nice hardshell case.  Add a Fishman pickup for $150 parts and labor, with volume and tone in the sound hole.  There will be a little extra shipping time for that option.
