OLP MM2 flame maple natural 4-string bass electric guitar
This is a great bass guitar, it has low action, a straight neck and killer tone. The finish looks great, it shows some signs of use, but not overuse or neglect. There is a ding on the back approximately 1/2" across. It has been set up and has new Dunlop medium strings.
The OLP MM2 Music Man Bass pays homage to the iconic Music Man StingRay bass, celebrated for its powerful sound and distinctive design. Produced by OLP (Official Licensed Product), the MM2 is an affordable alternative that captures the essence of the original Music Man bass, catering to a wider range of musicians. The MM2 features a sleek, double-cutaway body shape, often constructed from basswood or other tonewoods, along with a bolt-on maple neck and rosewood or maple fingerboard. Equipped with a single humbucking pickup reminiscent that packs bold and punchy tone, reminiscent of the StingRay, the MM2 delivers a versatile range of sounds, making it a practical choice for various musical genres.
Though the OLP MM2 might not be as prominently featured in the music world as its Music Man counterpart, it has garnered attention among musicians looking for an accessible instrument with a familiar feel. While individual players may use the MM2 for diverse styles, the bassist Justin Chancellor of the progressive metal band Tool is notably associated with OLP basses, including the MM2. Chancellor’s skillful playing and the distinctive tone of his OLP bass have added to the instrument’s reputation. The OLP MM2 offers players an affordable avenue to experience the essence of the Music Man StingRay, ensuring that the bass’s legendary attributes continue to inspire bassists both new and experienced.
