Martin Alto Saxophone (vintage) Low Pitch with Sumner 3 m.p. "AS IS"

This sax is a good project for someone who can do their own repairs.  It has not been test played and is sold AS IS for parts or repair.  The case is really beat up and there is a light to moderate mildew smell.  This horn will need to be disassembled, chemically dipped and overhauled.  It is either from the late 1930's or early 1940's, according to the Martin serial number page.  It's hard to see from the photos, but it doesn't appear to have been dropped, there is plenty of pitting and scratches, but no deep dents.  It obviously collided with something in order to break part of one of the guard cage off.  The mouthpiece looks a little rough and has a small indentation on the tip, if you love this model of mouthpiece, it may be able to be refaced, but a pro would need to determine that.  This horn is not for a band student who is trying to learn.  You would wan't a more modern Yamaha, Selmer or similar, shop adjusted for playability and free of mildew.
